AC Delco 41-962 Platinum plugs and Delphi plug wires. Don't use the Iridium plugs in that motor even tho the parts counter guy will try to sell them to you.

The Spark Plug service bulletin from Delco and the plug wire part numbers are in post #27 of my build thread.

The Dirtymax Diesel air filter fits in the 6.0L airbox. The pleats are deeper.

Re: 01 2500hd tune up and upgrade ideas

I decided to change the coils on my 6.0. It had orginal round coils on it. I took the square coils off a 5.3 i have sitting in a 99.

Reason for change. I am trying to figure out why iy ideals fine when i first start it. But has a miss when i get to toen. Which is maybe 3 miles from home.

Neighbor suggested a coil going bad. But. Still going it after coil swap and wire swap.

Could a plug be going bad once it warms up? Or could it be an injector?

Slight stump on my end here. Not sure which way to go. I do plan on getting new plugs and wires once i get paid. Just trying to make the truck run a bit better for now.

As far as tune up ... on y 04 Sierra I wnr acrosss the board with GM. I am not sure if any of the aftermarket items would make any real differece that one could see.

I will be putting on dual exhaust but that is about it.

Re: 01 2500hd tune up and upgrade ideas

I picked the Delco plugs and Delphi wires because they are OEM. I haven't been disappointed.

What do the misfire counters tell you?

A relative compression test with a scope will tell you a lot about engine mechanical condition.

Using a scope to view misfires from fueling issues.
