any gm techs on here??

Have a 2001 yukon with a radio problem. When driving over bumps it will make a poping noise threw the speakers, when it happens the music will still play but it just makes that noise, even at times when it happens the display on the radio will go blank but will return back with correct time and all. I am thinking there is a wire shorting out somewhere or the original deck is just messed up it also wont play cds. What you guys think??

Not a tech, but I say it's time for replacement...but that's because I always look for an excuse to buy a new radio. It'd be good to look through the wiring to make sure it's all in tact when back there too.

Yeah i looked it up online they say theres a issue with the front drivers door harness sometimes that will cause some wierd issues will check it out when the yukon is in my hands tomorrow. Its a customers ride, if all fails i will wire up another deck i have and see what happens. Never like to make people replace things that are not needed.

Ahh...didn't know it was a customer's car. Looks like you have a good lead though...
