Is this original or not?

Hey y'all,
When I bought my 69 GMC 1500 it has a green instrument panel, dash pad, and glove box door. I am trying to determine if this was an original option or someone's artistic expression. I know the steering wheel is the wrong color and I am saving for it.

For a GMC, yes. Chevy got a black face on the instrument cluster, glove box = dash color and coordinating dash pad.

Door panels have been chromed, if that's what you mean about stainless. They didn't come that way. Bench seat cover is not stock, but I really like it.

Re: Is this original or not?

Thank you so much, it very much appreciated. I will be giving these up as soon as I get the replacements. I am not really an interior chrome guy. It has wheels on it that i do not believe are original.

Re: Is this original or not?

My totally original 69 GMC 910 is decorated? the same way inside. My dashboard matches the exterior paint, while the instrument panel, glove box door, and tin door panels match the vinyl bench seat. FYI, the combo is dark green (paint) and saddle (the vinyl).

Re: Is this original or not?

You may want to consider using Vinyl Color spray to change the color of your steering wheel. I did that on a console for a 69 many years ago and it worked very well (tan to black). I also had a 68 steering wheel that was blue and I wanted black, so I had him paint it the same gloss black as the outside of the truck.

Re: Is this original or not?

Yes the wheel needs to be painted and the horn button is green. I have been spending most of my cash getting it running right. It is on the list of things I need to do and it does look silly. I found pictures today on the Mecum page that is great reference for a 69.

Re: Is this original or not?

by the looks of your doors, door jambs etc., the paint is 504 Med. Olive. That's the 72 Chevy color anyway, not sure if it is the same for GMC in 69.

Re: Is this original or not?

My 1969 C1500 is also olive green, but it has a black cluster bezel, glove box, seat, steering wheel/column, and door panels. Mine has few options, so maybe only nicer trucks had color matched interiors? I had a parts truck that was a 1969 c2500 that had tan interior, but I don't know what was original on that truck.

Re: Is this original or not?

My interior is supposed to be 612 according to my tag. After seeing aqua and olive combination I am kind of happy with what the last owner did.
