Nice job on your work, the truck looks really nice, glad you could save most of it.

Great job on what you are doing, good looking truck
Yes, that is a lot of hose, but it was FI hose. I have since removed all of that and put a TBI pump in the stock gas tank. I have a picture of that somewhere.

Re: Katrina/10

Current fuel pump setup. I did put a new float on it also. That one was dissolved by ethanol.

As far as the truck, I haven't been able to drive it much, It was in terrible mechanical shape, and leaked oil, tranny, ps fluid, water..you name it...after fixing most of those issues, the engine oil pressure went to zero at idle, I swapped engines, but still have a trans fluid leak from the front pump, so...its been a problem child for sure, but i'll get it eventually. I have a new wiring harness and power brake upgrade waiting for it. I'd also like a better cab, but will probably end up just fixing this one. As you know, impossible to find decent cabs around here. I haven't been able to spend a lot of time on it lately, as I'm stuck in the middle of a major restoration on the 67 Camaro convertible, but I'm about to get back on the truck.

Your truck is looking great...did you paint it yourself?
I know how that is, I have a bunch of other vehicles to work on also. Never seem to have enough time.

I did paint this truck at home. I am not a very good painter, but it looks acceptable and I didn't have to pay somebody else to do it.

I like stepsides, I have four of them. This truck was originally stepside, but the bed was rusted away, so I had to locate another one. This one is pretty decent, now I have to rework the rear fenders and paint them.

You do great work. You took what many would consider a heap of garbage, and turned it in to something beautiful and functional

Are you needing any parts? If you're needing something I could ship usps, I can keep an eye out at my local yards that have lots of 67-72's on a regular basis. Just pay actual shipping and whatever the yard charges for the part, and I'll pull it and ship it for you as a favor

There was a guy here in town that had a '74 Laguna S-3 454 4 speed car. It had always been garage kept, and was the gorgeous medium metallic blue (not sure what the color was called) and had a white interior with swivel buckets. I wanted that car so bad! I tried to buy it several times, but he gave it to his nephew who ended up totaling it and then putting the engine/transmission in a ragged mid 70's Camaro and then he wrecked it too. It made me sick so see such nice car get destroyed by an idiot.

Nice truck! Love that color! I am a stepside man as well, despite my handle! I had one fleet years ago and have bought and sold several beds. Now they are out of reach price wise. I had a 71 GMC swb step i sold (profile pic). Now i am finishing a 72 cheyenne swb step. I have a 71 chevy swb step. 55 first series 5 window step and 55. 2nd series big window step in line as well!

Thanks, B, I think I have enough parts to finish it. I'm sure there are a few small things I'll find when I put the fenders back on, but that's about it. I might be missing some fender braces, but I'm not sure yet.

That is a truly sad story. One of these cars with a big block and 4 speed is very rare.

That's the original 71 color combo, medium green and white. I liked it, so I decided to go back with it. I could not find a bed here ( south MS), but found one in Nashville, drove my 55 up there with a trailer to get it. Quite a trip!
