1998 Wrangler LS6/4L60E swap

Here is one of my other hot rods.
It's a 1998 Wrangler that I swapped in a 2002 LS6 and 4L60E. Did it about 12 years ago. Came to me as a insurance salvage theft recovery. Left fender was damaged other wise is was very clean. It was a 4 cylinder 5 speed Jeep. Drove it like that for a year. Then I pulled the 4 cylinder and did a complete frame off restoration. It was a Texas Jeep so no rust.
It's my summer time mall crawler and winter plow vehicle. It's been great. 4:10 gears so it's not slow. We've had it on the Power Tour a few times.

Cool Jeep! I've got a '98 SE 4-banger myself that I love. I've had it nearly twenty years. I had to redo my engine a year or two ago, but kept it simple. There's not much easier to replace than a 4 cylinder Jeep engine in a stick shift rig.

Keep on Jeepin!

Re: 1998 Wrangler LS6/4L60E swap

The four cylinder in mine ran fine. Had about 75000 miles on it but it was slow and I'd rather have an auto for plowing snow. So why not do a LS swap? I added a 241R TC out of a Rubicon along with a 8.8" explorer rear axle.
