Pollen so thick!

I tell you what. It's so thick here I just coughed up 2 daffodils and a pine cone!
I wear an N95 mask when mowing right now.

Re: Pollen so thick!

Years ago I was working in Florida and the pollen (yellow) was blowing in the streets, in waves. Fortunately, whatever it was, I wasn't allergic to it.

Re: Pollen so thick!

Tell me about it. I take an Allegra at night, a Zyrtec in the morning and a few Benedryls throughout the day. It's purely amazing that I can even function like this!

Re: Pollen so thick!

Late yesterday thunderstorms came through here. At one point the rain was coming down pretty hard and the wind was blowing it sideways. I looked out one window to see the rain, then looked out another window to see what looked like fog. It was the rain and wind hammering the pine trees, knocking the pollen out. Thick as fog.

Not to worry Dale. It's all headed due east.

Re: Pollen so thick!

Heading East? Oh no!

I'm not seeing it lay on anything here yet. I don't have allergies, but can still get choked up on breathing a good shot of it in. Same with eyes. They will itch when the wind blows it heavily. That stuff is like tiny burs. No wonder it irritates, even if it's not toxic to you

Re: Pollen so thick!

I have taken an awful lot of alergy meds over the years with little to no real help. Benedryl works but makes me so sleepy I can hardly function. Right now I'm taking Alegra and it's working better than most I have used.
I really should receive stock certificates from Kleenex and Puffs for all the tissues we use.

Re: Pollen so thick!

Boog, if the Allegra is working, great. Mine get real bad in the spring and again early September. During these times I've figured out I can add a Zyrtec and pretty much do away with all the issues. Try it during those real bad times. Before this I used to get a steroid shot at the doctor for these times.....not anymore.

Re: Pollen so thick!

The only thing I ever see flying like that up here is Cottonwood fuzzies.
There were four huge trees about 200 feet south of the old shop location and when they were blowing hard, it looked like snow.
