Re: One Piece Window Conversion Kit for '67-'72 GM Trucks

Dang!!! That's the good looking ones, too...no "triangle to weld in" insert at the front.

Hmm...hmm...I need channel runs, too (can you tell I'm trying to convince myself?)

How long will this group buy be held open before you place the order? I can't do it before recovering from the holidays...and what tints are offered?

Re: One Piece Window Conversion Kit for '67-'72 GM Trucks

in all honesty, does it fit "well" enough to where it is not a major pain to install? i have bought two kits and returned them both to other manufacturers because of fitment issues

Re: One Piece Window Conversion Kit for '67-'72 GM Trucks

Same question as above , that is the reason I wasnt doing 0ne piece glass , although I really would like to, Also is there optional grades of tint or is there only one option.

Re: One Piece Window Conversion Kit for '67-'72 GM Trucks

Since I have no idea what your mechanical abilities are, or what tools you own thats hard to answer. This is one of thee best designed kits on the market. With that said, it will require a certain amoint of mechanical skills to install. If you posses those skills you should be fine. If not, you may want consider professional help

There are a series of videos OPP is putting together for installation steps that will be in my catalog for a visual of the installation process.

67-72 kits are available in clear, green tint and grey tint ($20)

Re: One Piece Window Conversion Kit for '67-'72 GM Trucks

how many of these kits have you installed and how long does it take you? and when you are done, does the window go up/down smoothly and seal out the elements, and not rattle?

Re: One Piece Window Conversion Kit for '67-'72 GM Trucks

mechanical ability is fine, what i had a problem with the other kits was i would have had to cut them up so much to make them work that i could of built it easier and cheaper than redesigning the whole thing. i am the type of person that likes to buy nice stuff and have it fit. i understand that the doors are fourty years old and have been to hell and back, but the other kits were not even close. just wanted to know you opinion of the kit since you have put one in

Re: One Piece Window Conversion Kit for '67-'72 GM Trucks

I have only installed 6 sets of the flat kits. First set took me about a day per side, this was the first design in an aftermarket door, 4 years ago. They got easier the second time. The extra tech tips included in the instructions covered all of the issues I had the first time around. Last one was about a year ago (new design), and I helped a friend install them, it was about 1.5 hours per side.

Another buddy took his to a body shop and he is paying them to install them, instead of me. I went by there last week to get something painted and they apparently aren't following the directions as they wanted to buy a rear guide from me and re-engineer the kit. This kit doesn't use the rear guide. They have had it sitting outside for over 3 months because they don't know how to install it/read the instructions. The majority of the people that I have had complaints from have done this.

The ones I have installed roll up, and seal just like factory and they don't rattle.

Re: One Piece Window Conversion Kit for '67-'72 GM Trucks

Those 1 piece windows look pretty slick. Most of my money is going to the small things to keep me up and running, but once I get some more cash this looks like a great addition to my 72 k5.

Re: One Piece Window Conversion Kit for '67-'72 GM Trucks *

i'm at the point in my build where we need to mock our window kit up. We will be going with power windows and would like to go with a one piece kit. Their seem to be some fitment issues from the research i've read on this forum. You stated in the above thread that "they are currently on their 5th revision", i was simply asking what that revision was?

The latest revision included an improved door stop and adjustable rollers to fine tune the angle of the glass in aftermarket doors.
