Window won't roll down...

My passenger side door window on my won't roll down and it's driving me nuts! I will be taking off the panel this evening to check it out. Before this, the first initial crank was a little stiff then it would just jump into smooth cranking of the window. I have never had to removal the panels before. Anything in particular I should be looking for or need to do?

Any help/info is appreciated...

Re: Window won't roll down...

The hardest part will be getting the handles off. Here's a pic off a removele tool you can get for under ten bucks and I drew a picture of the c-clip that holds the handles on.Name: image.jpg

Size: 37.6 KB The tool makes c-clip removele a 5sec job but you don't need it. You can just use a screw driver or a shop towell and just keep draging it behind the handle until it catches the clip and pops it out. The rest is pretty easy just removing screws. Your window track is made with a rubber insert to hold the window tight. They can start to peel off or get cracked and split and block the window from coming down. You can try to glue one that just falling off. If it really screwed up you can just break off the offending piece and have a shaky window. If you wanna do it right and have a long term fix you can get a new rubber insert. Could be something else but I'm betting on the track insert.

Re: Window won't roll down...

I use a shop rag on the door handle clips, just drag it through the gap and it will snag the clip and pull it off.

Oil all moving parts and the spring too even when these things are wore out will work with little effort
