99-06 Silverado Seat Swap - Info and Pics

I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right section, so mods feel free to move it if I'm wrong...

This weekend I picked up some cloth seats and off Craigslist from a 2001 Silverado. Oddly, both the driver and passenger seats are electric. I had never seen an electric passenger seat from a 99-06 truck. I know heated seats were an option during those years...but I'm not sure if you could get heated cloth seats. How would I figure out if the seats are heated or just electric?

Also, I have seen pictures of trucks and Blazers running 99-06 GM truck seats on here. If you have these seats, please throw up some pics of how you have them mounted. I haven't had a chance to take out the old seats and see what all needs to be done/built to get the new seats in. Any info is greatly appreciated!

Here's a pic of the seats (I know I've got them sitting backwards..). I don't plan on using the console because i like the factory one better...but who knows.

Not the same seats, but I put 98 or 99 Silverado seats in my 69 K20. A big issue is the integrated seat belts are going to put some big forces on your floor in areas where your floor hasn't been structurally designed to withstand.

Here is a link to my thread of my installation. It will at least give you some insight on installation.

I didn't even think about supporting the floor from a safety standpoint. That does make sense though. It looks like you have a pretty sturdy setup. Thanks for the info!

Keep the posts coming. Let's see some other set ups, pics, and hear some other opinions.

Yeah I didn't figure they would be heated, especially with them being cloth. Doesn't ever hurt to hope a little though

My 02 2500HD has both power cloth seats. I know in 04 they took away the passenger power seat,(& underhood lamp, and glove box lamp.)

I think you had to get leather to get heated seats.

They started taking a bunch of stuff away around 04 and 05. I know for 05 they took away rear disc brakes and swapped them for drums. They did add e-fans that year though.

I figured they would only have the leather ones heated. Thanks for the info. I always try to jump into the build threads looking for one specific thing then find something else that sparks my interest and end up on a completely different tangent than I originally intended haha. Sooner or later I'll stay focused long enough to find what I was actually looking for. Hopefully...

I found from JDubBlazer's build thread...Post #95. It's not super descriptive or anything, but better than nothing.

Re: 99-06 Silverado Seat Swap - Info and Pics

...found Snowblind's build thread with some info about the seat swap. Hate to see his ride gone...I used my old Blazer for a ski/snoboarding vehicle...they're perfect for it.

I'll keep digging...
