Overload helper springs

These were on my shortbed when I tore it down and I have no plans to reuse them. They're not factory, but they are period correct. They mount in front of the axle right behind the cab and rest on the trailing arm. Just wondering if they are worth anything or should I send them to the scrapyard. Thanks.

Re: Overload helper springs

I am sorry but I do not know what the value would be but I would think someone would want them. Do you have any pictures of them installed (how they mounted). Did you drive the truck with them on it? Was the ride stiffer than normal or did they sit above and only hit when the truck had a load? I know the weight of shipping will probably hurt selling them but I would still think they have more value than what they weigh in scrap metal.

Re: Overload helper springs

I don't think I have any pics of when they were on the truck. I'll have to look. IIRC the rubber pads rested on the TA's all the time. Didn't get to drive the truck enough to know if they affected the ride.

I'm going to post them up on the parts board and see if I can get something for them. They're about 25 lbs each so shipping will probably be high.

Re: Overload helper springs

Neat part. So it sounds like they probably would not work on a lowered truck.

Because of the weight, Greyhound Bus might be a good shipping option if you have that available to you. Neat part. Good Luck

Thumbs up Re : Overload helper springs

Link to Ad please ? .

I'd like them , will put to good use on a working rig .

I'm glad you're asking instead of just tossing in the scrap pile ~ I see so much good stuff crushed for scrap here in Cali. , Land of Fruits , Nuts & Flakes .

TIA ,
