Windshield gasket sealant

Have an 02 Taurus that's leaking water at the top of the windshield, and the gasket is doing this...

It'll pretty much pull out all the way around the windshield. Guess I need to take it all out, clean the edge of the windshield interface with a degreaser and nylon brush, pump a bunch of sealant in there and reinstall the gasket.

What kind of cleaner and sealant should I use for this job? Any advice appreciated.

Do they still make a Taurus? I suppose you could pull it up and seal around it. Pictures so big I can't see exactly what's going on.

Re: Windshield gasket sealant

I didn't know a Taurus windshield could fit into a truck, interesting.

Re: Windshield gasket sealant

You can use denatured alcohol to clean it. You will need a urethane sealant to properly install it. You can buy the sealant in caulk tubes at most auto parts stores.

Wear rubber gloves when working with the urethane as it will get on your skin and is very hard to remove. If you get some on the car's body, use denatured alcohol on a paper towel to clean it off before it cures.
