Re: Lets see your truck!

Yes the camper is homebuilt . A friend made it about 15yrs ago , he had a '37 Chev then.

After that he had a '46 and the camper saw use there .

I was camping in my truck one summer (in the canvas canopy) and we had 2" rain over night . The bed got wet and I had had enough.

Mean time , my friend has bought and rebuilt a lovely '59 Apache and the camper doesn't fit................

Yep , straight 'round to his place I go

.

Re: Lets see your truck!

Our (early) 1947 GMC just arrived yesterday from Arizona!

Camaro front clip and rear end. Disc brakes, tubular A-arms. Fuel inj chevy 350, AC, a few other little things here and there.

Plans include wooden bed kit, wheels and tires, possible interior redo, and redoing the running boards in grey. If anyone has any help or sources for those things, let me know. Thanks!

Cool! Mine's actually my dad's old shop logo, lots of history there. I'm interested to see how yours turns out!

Re: Lets see your truck!

I just sold my '64 Short Step and was browsing the web and this forum. Happened upon this 40 Chevy and was hooked.

Don't have a clue about the truck other than it is a thing of beauty.

Wow, that's a beauty! I normally hate gold colored cars/trucks of any year, but I do like it on that truck.

1933 chevy 1/2 ton. been in the family since 36 every day except for one. My great grandfather traded it for a coupe but the guy returned it the next day because it wasn't fast enough. here is how it sits now(minus the plow equipment)

Awesome truck! I'm loving the stock racks. Have any specific plans for it?

Thanks! For now im trying to keep it as stock as possible. It has a 34 207? correct me please if its wrong, my dad replaced it when he tried working on it 15-20 years ago. But other than that maybe lower a tad, probably wont rat rod it, but if i ever get enough money to put into it this is my dream design for it. (i know its a dodge, but a baseline for it)

Re: Lets see your truck!

Cool idea, but that truck of yours is only original once. I would look for another one that needs everything modified and changed and start with it.
