Re: chevy long bed questions

I've never seen one but that doesn't mean it can't be done.Lots of careful measuring and thought to get body lines to match would be required. There aren't many fans of this mod on the BB since most are looking for that classic look. Also keep in mind that the wheelwells no longer match.

Re: chevy long bed questions

I'm curious why you want to go that route, what are the benefits of a modern LB over the original??

Re: chevy long bed questions

I'm just curious that's all. I just thought ppl are doing it with stepside why not with a fleet side.

Re: chevy long bed questions

i used to have pics of one done... it looks bad. I mean butt ugly bad. The sides of the later models are rounded, they bulge in the center, where ours are a lot flatter. So in the middle of the side, the bed sticks out further than the truck.
It looked real bad.

The short beds look bad enough...I would LOVE to see a long bed.....I am regurgitating in my mouth as I type this!!!

Re: chevy long bed questions

Are they right width overall? I know that canopies won't interchange because the tops of the newer boxes are several inches narrower than the older models. I would think that would also mess up the look of the transition from the cab to the box.

Not a fan of the idea, but it's your truck to do with what you want. You don't have to answer to anyone but yourself.
