Re: And so it begins................

Well, I changed the inlet filter on the Q-jet and tried to adjust the points a little bit and the truck was still cutting out last night at the cruise so it must be something else. I'm thinking about dropping the Mallory HEI in there that used to be in the 4x4.

Re: And so it begins................

Here's some progress for you nay-sayers!!

Went out to Neils today and he and James and Steve helped me pull the trim, weld up some monster holes in the bed and even diagnose the my engine problem. James knocked the trim and clip situation and Neil welded up my bed and then whipped out his digital thermometer to find that the #6 cylinder was running about 100 degrees cooler than the rest so apparently the plug or wire is bad since the compression on that cylinder checked out fine last week.

No, the trim will be off for a while though and I will replace it with new pieces from Mar-K later on. I've been talking it over with James (bigmac68) already and he's given me tons of advice. The current plan is to shoot the truck solid green to make it look better and then work one spot at a time. Before the trim goes back on, it will go back to 2 tone paint.

Behind the camera. I did a little of everything as we all did with the exception of welding the holes. Nobody had the skills for that but Neil. We had fun and mostly just bs'ing. We were there all day until about 8:00pm

Re: And so it begins................

Yeah I have to have the upper and lower trim and 2 tone paint on mine. They just don't look right without it.

No, it looks like it held up fine. I'm glad you made me wait a little bit before pulling it back out into the rain. I probably would have just taken off and ruined it.

Guess what though? Since I haven't picked up the vacum line from John yet my defroster wasn't working and I couldn't see for squat on the way home last night and coming into blanchard some jerkoff had his lights on bright and I couldn't see anything!! Some fog on the window and the glossy wet streets combined with my old headlights and I hit a freakin curb at like 50mph. It was that spot as your coming into town where it splits into 2 lanes and the right lane turns right. I could only make out the white line at the side of the road so I was trying to follow that and I didn't see that triangle shaped concrete section out in the road until the last minute. I tried to swerve left but I still hammered it with both rightside tires.

I can't tell that it hurt anything yet but I will have to look it over later.
