1972 GMC Original Engine Tranny and T-case

I pulled this assembly out of my 1972 GMC 4x4 Sierra Grande 3/4 ton dually. It is the exact same engine, tranny and t-case that came in the truck when new. All three have been rebuilt. The engine most recently. The engine was ran on Propane after the rebuild. I removed the propane stuff and have it in a box. I installed a Holley 650 on it to drive it around for about a year. (After that, I installed a Cummins)

I had the package priced for $900 on a 4x4 forum but everybody wanted the NP205 and Adaptor to the 350 tranny.

So WIW?

I can get the engine block numbers and head number if anybody is doing a full blown resto and wants them.

My pics are 113kb and 112kb (too big), I'll resize them and post them up.

Sounds like more then a fair asking price to me for any running (let alone rebuilt) V-8/th350/Np205 combo. Just for comparisons sake, I recently sold a rebuilt 350 w/paper work for $800... it was a complete as removed, air cleaner to oil pan setup with all short w.p. brackets and pulleys included, no trans or transfer included.

Good luck on your sale, and would also like to see some pics of your G M C !

I think that's a fair price myself...

Re: 1972 GMC Original Engine Tranny and T-case

On the drivers side of the engine block behind the head it has cast in it;

24GM
3970010

Is that the right number or should I be looking in a different place?

3970010 is just a basic 350 casting number, used on almost every 350 you'll find. there is another number that can tell you more though, called the suffix code. it will be on a little "pad" on the passanger side, right behind where the water pump bolts on. there will be 2 sets of stamped numbers. you will need the last 3 numbers/letters off the taller set of numbers

I see used TH350/NP205 combos go for $300.I think you`re inline with the total package cost.
