4x4 frame value ??

I have a chance to get a 1971 4x4 long bed frame only with a title and vin tag. What would you guys say this is worth?? I have all of the running gear already just sitting here looking for a frame to go on. He is asking $400.00. Thanks for the advice, Joe

frame

In my opinion only that is too much,I got a whole truck minus engine with decent cab and front clip for 500.'67 4x4 small window, plus 33" mud tires. If the frame was blasted and painted maybe.KD

I'd say it's worth it, having a clear title and vin plate to match the frame will make it a breeze when it comes time to license it.

Well, in my area the best deal I could find was 700-1000 for a good swb frame. (or 400 for a bent one) I would certainly buy a frame for $400. Someone offered me a 76 k-10 in decent condition for free, so I think I am going to take that instead. lol

It seems like the 67-72 4x4 prices are way higher in CA than anywhere else. I did see a 67 k-10 for $600 before I knew how rare they were, but it still would have needed a lot of work. Knowing what I know now I would have still bought it though.

Joe,
i sell 69-72 long 4x4 frames stripped completely for $300 without papers, short 69-72 4x4 frames for a grand and i've sold every one i ever had. if it's a 67-8 frame i wouldn't buy it- lousy front spring mounts , no provision for a power steering gearbox and weird leafspring configuration.
if it's a 71-2 frame, they are the best to build on-- in my opinion.

You guys are making me feel bad for selling the 72 burb 1/2 4x4 frame so cheap. I had nobody interested for $200 plus title and vin plate. You know who I sold it to Joe. Oh well I'm looking at a 71 1/2 4x4 and a 72 3/4 4x4 now to ease my mind. Good luck Joe!! Its all in how bad somebody wants it OR wants to get rid of it. Randy

Ya Blue_71 it was $600, you got frame, cab, front and rearends, tranny, transfer.
OK Joe, come on up. I've sold a bunch of stuff though I'm getting a little scarce on parts but surely I have something you need, auto tranny and transfer out of 72 burb, he he. If you talk to Ron tell him I'm going to call him. I'm not going on my trip to Texas now so I'll have it ready next weekend, like Saturday afternoon would be good. I'm cutting the front and rearends out of the burb today 3.73 posi in rear, disc brakes on front going in the 68 burb sometime. Look forward to meeting you Joe! Thanks Randy
