Would these wheels fit my truck?

Found these wheels on Facebook marketplace. I’m wondering if you all think they would fit my truck. I’ve got a 71 stepside with stock suspension.

Re: Would these wheels fit my truck?

Yes, they should be an excellent fit.

I know backspacing is optimum for the 71 rear end on a fleetside. Shouldn't be that much different for stepside.

Do they only come in one backspace?

As the OP is referencing. Without the backspace or offset offered up. There is no way to determine if they will fit, even on your 50+ year old truck that may or may not have had modifications.

"Should" work since they come off a Chevy Truck. Ask for backspacing

Re: Would these wheels fit my truck?

When I bought my 72 it had 17x9.5's and 1/2 or 3/4" spacers on the rear. The tires were around 1/2" from rubbing on the inside and the tires told the story that they were rubbing when cornering.

Figure out the backspace. They're all a little different.

Re: Would these wheels fit my truck?

When I looked up the wheels, before posting my answer, I could only find they came in one backspacing for the sizes listed.

Re: Would these wheels fit my truck?

Did you ask the seller what kind of truck he had them installed on?

I still stand by my answer, they are going to work fine.

As for modifications to your truck over the years, they would have had to swap in some kind of way wider or way narrower rear diff to screw up the fit and that would be obvious.

The only thing I can see having been done to your front suspension to mess up the fit is some kind of aftermarket tubular a-arms that move the wheel in or out.

Does your suspension and diff look to be basically stock? If so, you are good to go.

Riddler, US Mags, American Racing all make many different "cast" wheel that are designed to work well on stock C10 trucks from 1971 to 1987. I'd throw 5 lug converted 67-70's in there, but the earlier ones have the narrower rear diff. Even with the narrower rear diff, these should fit, but be tucked in the wheel well more.

Re: Would these wheels fit my truck?

The early rear end on a stepside these would be tight, just my opinion.

https://www.amazon.com/Ridler-Style-.../dp/B004X5YA9A

It looks like the rear wheels are 6mm offset. So, 5" BS would be very close. ( 0 would be 4.75, +6 would be around 5" BS )

If the truck is lowered any at all, honestly I'd find different wheels. I think they'd be tight. Stock suspension I feel like you'd be ok, but they are going to be on the edge of the fenders. Step sides are a bit different than the fleets.

As mentioned, 5"BS on a late housing is OK for a fleetside IMO (I do 5.5 on a late housing, and 5 on a early housing Fleetside.. 6" if it's a big static drop or bagged) 10" wheel.

Just my opinion.

I'd see if the seller would let me slip one on the back and just test it before I bought them. It's gonna be snug.. but may fit your tastes perfectly. Me, I like them to tuck under the fenders slightly but to each their own I guess. I like em all!!

Good luck man. Hope this helps.

Re: Would these wheels fit my truck?

If you scroll down the amazon listing is shows "Wheel Backspacing 5.49 inches"

That's what I looked up on Ridlers site when I was checking....and... he's got the wider 71 rear end...
