USA made inner door handles

I can’t afford NOS parts most days, so in an effort to get the best parts I can I normally search eBay using the NOS part numbers listed when I can find one. I normally don’t have any luck finding much but today I found some inner door handles using a NOS part number. The seller has the handles listed as Volvo inner door handles, but also lists 67-72 trucks/suburbans/Chevelle/Nova. They look identical to the original inner handles. I have purchased a set but was curious if anybody knows anything about the Volvo handles fitting our trucks? They are listed as made in USA.

I'm not seeing any part numbers cast into the handles. Do the ones you bought have the part numbers cast into them? They are usually in the round part.

Thanks,
LockDoc

I haven’t received them yet, but will post some info once I receive the handles. The design/shape appear to be spot on.

Inner Door Handles
From memory they look like they'd fit. Volve huh?, learn something new everyday. They appear to be nice handles, especially for $8. They're not GM NOS..

The free shipping is what makes them a good deal. You can buy aftermarket handles from most vendors for $5 but the shipping would be at least another $5-$10....

Re: USA made inner door handles

When looking for door handles and window cranks, do handles and cranks from other years work on our trucks, such as from the late 50's?

Re: USA made inner door handles

I will post up some pictures once I receive them. I don’t know if the made in USA is believable at that price unless they are stamped USA somewhere. I know they aren’t NOS by any means, but a good buy at $8.

True OEM MY '67 door handles and window cranks have a slimmer profile than the '68-'72s. One year only. Don't know about before that.
I do know Chevy cars also used the same styles.
I think the range goes beyond MY '72, but I don't know how far. The '68 handles do fit the '67s, no problem. But a '67 ''expert'' can tell 'em apart.

Interesting that Volvo was sourcing GM style parts for US-built Volvo Trucks.
Makes sense. Lots cheaper than making them in Sweden and shipping the handles here.

Re: USA made inner door handles

I received the handles as they were shipped from Arkansas. The packaging looks good. The sticker lists Volvo 01 G7743519. The inside of the new handle is stamped 9714148 best I can tell. The original handle lists PT9714748. The chrome is very nice on the new handle. The depth and the hole width are the same on both handles as well. I still need to try one onto my door to make sure it all lines up.

Re: USA made inner door handles

I just checked the fit and they do fit. They are a tighter fit than my originals as they are well broken in and took just a bit of persuasion from my palm. I now just need to find the window cranks.

Thanks! Just ordered a pair. I assume they are shipped as a pair? Site wasn't very clear.

I was confused on that as well, but ordered a quantity of 2 and received 2 handles total, meaning they are sold as singles.

Re: USA made inner door handles

OK, that is what I ended up doing. It says handles, but then the one pic show QTY: 1 so I figured at that price it had to be one handle only. Thanks again.

Oriellys has window cranks on the shelf. Black or clear. Quality was good, no complaints.

Nice find! Interesting connection to Volvo- are they supplying these as service parts for the White/GMC HD trucks or Brigadier/Bison trucks maybe?
