Is the glass film tinted or just green tint?

Re: Blazer Top Hardware and Side Glass

D.PASSMORE - The glass itself has a light green tint. It originally had a tint applied to the inside of it that was purple-ish in color (factory?). The purple tint was scratched and knicked up, so I removed it. What you see in the pictures is the dark band of leftover purple tint that was under the rubber seal. The remaining purple tint can be removed easily with a razor blade and some mineral spirits.

Re: Blazer Top Hardware and Side Glass

So, the glass is OE? Come out of a single wall or double wall top?

Re: Blazer Top Hardware and Side Glass

Glass OE as far as I can tell. Came out of a double wall top, but double and single wall tops use same glass. It is the rubber seal that is different between the two types of tops.

Re: Blazer Top Hardware and Side Glass

Shipping glass is a gamble. So I will have to either build a crate or box it with a lot of padding. Either way, it probably won't be cheap. Just preparing you.

Re: Blazer Top Hardware and Side Glass

Yeah, OE green tinted glass is non-exsistant in FL. Everything disintegrates after 10 years if not properly stored or care for. But, heavy card board, padding, styrafoam speed balls. See what you come with. No hurry...

Re: Blazer Top Hardware and Side Glass

I just read a thread on the Blazer board where someone claims that the side glass for single wall tops is thinner than side glass for double wall tops. This is not what I told you previously, so I could be wrong. My glass is from a double wall top. If you have a single wall, my glass may not work if this information is correct. Let me know what style top you have. If its a double wall, no problems. If its a single wall, we may have to do more research to confirm the info in the other thread. Just don't want you to end up with something you can't use.

Re: Blazer Top Hardware and Side Glass

Sorry, I was waiting for you to reply with which type of top you need glass for, but didn't see that you wanted me to measure thickness. I will get this ASAP.

Re: Blazer Top Hardware and Side Glass

A thread back from the dead! Yes I do still have the side glass. As stated above, it is out of a double wall top. I am not 100% certain that it will work in a single wall top. I am also a little hesistant to ship these, but I guess it could be done at the risk of the buyer.
