Quick question about horn wire.

Hey guys. I’ve got a 72 C10. Long story short, P/O for some reason had the green wire from the horn relay pigtail completely missing. It’s just the black and red. It is not hooked up to the relay, and horn isn’t installed yet. Just wondering if having that green wire missing from the fuse box will effect anything else? Or cause a battery drain at some point?

Re: Quick question about horn wire.

The green wire just runs from the relay, through the bulkhead connector behind the fuse panel and out to the horn. It isn't connected to anything else, so it shouldn't cause any problems with other circuits if it is missing. Now if the black wire from the horn button is shorted to ground for some reason, and you had the relay plugged in, then that would activate the relay constantly without you knowing it, which would result in a battery drain.
