Re: Pls help on ignition module

Are you using the proper thermal paste between the module and the distributor body?

Are you using good quality modules, such as AC Delco or Standard Motor Products (aka Blue Streak)?

Is the ground strap that connects to the distributor connector in place under the coil?

Do you have a couple of ground wires/cables between the engine and battery and/or frame?

Have you done any tests on the coil and/or pickup coil?

Re: Pls help on ignition module

I have read that the module does not like the voltage surges of the external voltage regulator for the alternator. You can convert to the internal unit very easily.

Heat is a killer of these modules thus the need the thermal paste as stated and the other suggestions by raceman.

More suggestions here.
