Re: paint under hood

I like to see the firewall painted the same as the body colour.
Just my opinion.

Actually I was going to sandblast mine and get that spray on rubberize you can buy at the local paint/ body shop. 3M makes it, its called Body Schutlz. You can get the gun for like 5 bucks to spray it at a 20psi. Looks great, me and my friend sprayed his engine compartment with it. Plus we live in AZ and it handles the heat with no problem.

Stock: Painted wall same as body, it is the body. Inner fender wells are not body paint them black outer fenders are body so paint them body color. Core support black. it isn't the body..
Go that route and you won't go wrong. Looks right since it is!!!!

Re: paint under hood

On a low buck aproach, I'll try to clean the firewall real good... some sort of awsome cleaner, like Spray Nine, or simple green, super clean is another real good one for this. I've even gone as far as getting the red scotch brite pad with the cleaners. Clean it all up, it id looks presentable, then just shoot some clear from a can over it since the pad made it all dull.
If it still looks like ass, or isn't the same color as the truck's body, then I like seeing it in gloss or semi gloss black. Personally, flat just looks too unfinished, or too far removed from correct.
Inner fenders... always gloss black IMO.

Re: paint under hood

I'll be painting my firewall and inner fenders the body color.

But mine is going to be a show truck.

For a driver/work truck I wouldn't do the fenders.
