Truck came with a 305/700r4, someone put a 350/350 combo in it before I got it, now I have a handful or wires that arent hooked up. If anyone can help me identify them, id be very grateful. Ill start with the driver side, then on to the passenger. Here goes

Re: can anyone tell me wat wires these are and if i need them
what year is the truck i see several connectors for the 700r4, frist picture is the oil pressure connectors, picture 2 is a ground i believe, picture 5 are the connectors for the 700r4 trans.
second post picture 5 is the knock sesnor for the computer control timing picture 6 is the starter signal wire and the flat 4 pin is for the computer controled eec knock senor module. looks like the truck was a 305/700r4 with throttle body injection and someone swaped it over to a 350/350 carbed motor.

Looks a lot like that truck was originally fuel injected. I see a knock sensor plug along with some other sensor plugs. You wont be using any of them with the carbureted motor.

Re: can anyone tell me wat wires these are and if i need them
Aright last set I promise
The truck is an 84, and it did come with the 305/700r4 but was converted to a carbed 350/350. Im not sure if it was fuel injected as Ive seen 86 models that still had carburetors but Im no expert on the matter The vacuum line that comes out of the firewall cant be for the trans modulator, I have that running from the modulator to a port in the intake And regarding the oil pressure connector, I already have one hooked up, its a single pin. am I using the wrong one or is it possible there are two? But anyway, can I remove the above mentioned wires with no issure? Thanks for the help so far |

Re: Can anyone tell me what wires these are and if I need them ?
Haha yea that is a golf tee, got it for free when i bought the truck. It had to be fuel injected with all the extra wires I have laying around. If i buy a haynes manual for the 73-87 will it show what all those wires are?

Re: Can anyone tell me what wires these are and if I need them ?
The harness is the original from the 84 cab. I removed the wires coming through the passenger side firewall and took out the transmission computer thing, unhooked the wires and vacuum tubes from the two unnecessary sensors (one of them was the line with the golf tee. Took the aftermarket water temp gauge out and hooked up the green wire to a new stock sensor. Now that its running i have the dash pad taken back out and i might try to remove the other wires coming through the firewall that arent attached. Is that a bad idea?
