1968 292 fender emblems

For those that know... Did the 1968 Chevy trucks come factory with the engine emblems below the front side marker lights? Or was that later. My truck has a 292 in it, so would it have had the 292 fender emblem? Thanks for any help and info.

Re: 1968 292 fender emblems

The emblem under the side marker came on the 71-72s. I don't know if there was a fender emblem at all on the 67-68s. One of the experts needs to answer for sure

Nope. My '68 C/10 Stepside was ordered with a 292 L6. No fender displacement numeral badge.

I think that the engine call out emblems started with the 1969 model year

Re: 1968 292 fender emblems

One of the PO's of my '69 put 396 emblems on the replacement fenders, only they did not pay attention or wanted something "different". The emblems are mounted about 2" ABOVE the side marker light.
Go figure. Nice paint, so I am not in the mood to grind, weld in the holes and do a repaint to relocate the emblems.

Any idea on what to do with the holes (that does not involve welding - for now) for when I do relocate them emblems to the correct location?

My 69 C20 (K20) has an "8350" badge under the C20 badge on the front fenders.

Currently (03/25/2024) looking for an Action Line truck, specifically 1969-1970, in very good condition. Longbed only, step or fleetside, or flatbed if C30. Must be unmolested (not modded).

That's the Cummins option.
I'm pretty sure that 8350 is the motor home version of the 24 valve 6bt Cummins.

Re: 1968 292 fender emblems

Ok, I am confused here. Why would someone pull up a thread from 2017 just to laugh at a post that isn't funny, only offering normal and accurate information? And I have no idea where the next comment about Cummins is coming from

As answered above, no optional engine designate badges in '68. '69 is when the engine badges started going on the trucks. 69/70 were below the fender badge and 71/72 went under the front side marker

I guess I will have to apologize, then, if I upset anyone with my "laughter".

I, often, read older posts for the wealth of information they have. I didn't realize older posts shouldn't be commented on.

And I also thought outfield was trying to be funny with his comment. Apparently I misunderstood the post.

I will be more careful, in the future.

Re: 1968 292 fender emblems

Once I figured it out where 8350 came from, I too thought it was hilarious. And the Cummins part was just one of the worthless pieces of information stuck in my head. Like part numbers for 6 & 1/4" bore CAT engines.
