Re: Project' 69 c10 aka sin.

As far as the paint is concerned, remember. Most of the success and look of paint is in the prep work. So, just make sure you have everything straight, grease and oil free, that there isn't much humidity in the air, water in the compressor tank...etc.

For using implement paint on my truck, it held up well, considering all it's been through. And, quite frankly, had a helluva shine for a while.

I think the Blitz Black will do you well, personally, and give you that look you're going for. It would seem plenty of folk on the HAMB like it.

Any plans on hopping up that 250? Or are you throwing a bent 8 in 'er?

Keep at 'er man, she's gettin' there.

Re: Project' 69 c10 aka sin.

I'm a fan of white roofs, however it also depends on what you want the final "look" to be.

Combined with drop, rims/wheels...etc.

With that said, you can paint it white, and if you don't like it, throw some black on it. Or vice versa.

The whole top as it was before. I know I showed above just the back and the roof.
But I don't like that look on these years it looks funny to me.
The bumper is also white. I'll take some pics tonight yet or tomorrow after school.
I hate school.......

Re: Project' 69 c10 aka sin.

On a budget, you can paint whitewalls. There are a few how-to's on the board, and they look good for the price of the paint.

A 350 will give you the exhaust note I'm sure you want, along with some power if it's still pretty fresh. My tired 307 gets out of it's own way pretty good, especially when you down shift from 3rd to 2nd on the highway. Out of the hole...kinda doggy, but that's due to the 3.07 gears out back. Otherwise...I'm a fan...I just miss my glasspacks...

Keep at 'er. And keep your head in the game with school. Maybe not fully in...but for the most part. I'm on my 4th year of college, and I admit, I did pretty alright in school, but that let me get into college, and further myself, along with my truck and now my car.

Any plans for after HS? North Central Tech? Or off to a UW?

Re: Project' 69 c10 aka sin.

Not trying to act like your father, or tell you what to do. If I came off like that, my apologies. haha. If nothing else, get enrolled at a tech and start taking Gen. Ed's, that'll buy you some time and let you experience "college". I did pretty much the same thing, and was tossing around welding or communications/journalism. Yeah, I'm a writer now.

But yeah, 350 with headers and glasspacks, run a compression test on it, slap a bumpy cam in the beasty, and have a 4 barrel dumper....you'd have some tire smoking fun.

Re: Project' 69 c10 aka sin.

haha unless you hate the 250 or have a big wallet for gas, i spend roughly 40$ a week in gas driving to school/back (I live in the sticks and dont cruise town every nite)

Supposevly its a freshly rebuilt motor.......powers not jaw dropping but it'll do a decent burnout
4bbl carb too..

what can i do for more power guys (on the cheap preferbly)

Re: Project' 69 c10 aka sin.

Start with bolt-ons for power - intake and exhaust. Then step up to a higher lift cam shaft. After that, you're looking at different heads or pistons to up the compression, and after that, it's boring and stroking and the list goes on and on...
