55.2-59 C4 front brake lines

Where is the best place to have front extended brake lines made for my 55.2 with c4 suspension?
I was having issues with steering (turning) radius before I took this thing apart and discovered that when turning the wheel sharp the lines are stretching and preventing turning.

i assume you are talking about the hoses. summit,jegs, or flatout engineering has them on their web-site. if you are talking about the hard lines you will have to fab them yourself as this is a full custom application. got my braided line from flatout

I just need longer hoses for the fronts.

That is one I am not experienced with.

A search shows that the Stock C-4 front brake hoses Vary between years slightly

84/87 takes a 12.6 inch hose that has a triangle shaped banjo. ACDELCO 18J286

88/92 are 12.875 and the banjo end is square with one corner cut off on the right side ACDELCO 18J630
left again is 12.875 with part number ACDELCO 18J629

94/96 are 15.5 inches long but have a 90 degree bend in a steel tube between the banjo and the rubber hose Right ACDELCO 18J121, left ACDELCO 18J1214

If the length is right I'd check with Wildwood on the fit though.

Thanks for the look. Those Wilwood may do the trick.
The ones on the front are a little over 13" so 15 may work. 16 or 17 would be ideal.

That C 4 Corvettes had three different brake hose designs in that stretch is a bit to absorb. If you know the exact year of the donor it isn't an issue but the guys that buy a C-4 front end from a wrecking yard or swap meet with no exact year may have a bit of a go around.

I just ordered -3an brake lines 15" long and M10x1.00 to -3an adapters for the calipers and from the brake lines. Done deal.

I already received the 15" -3an brake hoses! I just ordered them yesterday.

Should have the AN fittings on Thursday.

The braided lines will work out nicely and now with the AN lines I can change the length easily if need be.

With the stock short ass rubber hoses disconnected the wheels turn sharp.

I was able to find an braided kit for the c5 z06 for cheap that worked for me.(the c5 z06 lines I believe were slightly longer than standard if your looking at stock lines) Part #

That's a great solution! I already have the an3 lines and should have the adapters today. If this doesn't work out, I will use the Russell setup.

OK, now I have learned that there are two types of female metric (bubble) fittings. Convex and concave. I am talking about the chassis side of the brake hose. I ordered the fittings and the caliper male an3 to m10x1 fittings are all fine. The an3 to bubble fittings that I received from are the convex bubble and do not work (leaky, leaky). I found one place that had male an3 to female m10x1 CONCAVE receptors.

I had the f drivers side apart and luckily I could remove the piece of brake line and reflare to fit the convex fitting.

The pass side is another story. Very difficult to remove and reflare so I ordered one of the CORRECT fittings. I have an Eastwood flaring tool, so off the car is a must. Works perfectly though.

So, if anyone is attempting to use AN brake hoses on a C4 configuration, make sure that you get the an3 male to female m10x1 convex fittings and you will bolt up and get rid of the goofy c4 hoses.

Just to clarify, the c4 hoses are banjo m10x1 into the caliper and female m10x1 concave on the other side.

After this mess, i now can use any length an3 brake hoses that I prefer.

I have the Eastwood flair tool but haven't had the need for the metric dies "yet" I sure like the ease you can do a flair with it and get good flairs with it.

The flaring tool is really nice to have.

I finally received the correct concave fitting and did not have to cut and flare the pass side .

All good now.
