why not go to the parts store and get a reman gearbox for a `73 nova`.not that you can`t find one at a salvage yard,as i know,i work at one.it`s a common problem with one that age for the seals to be hard and brittle, therefore leaking faster than you can pour fluid in,besides having other issues as just being wore out.just my 2 cents

A truck box won't fit. Many GM cars from the late '60s through the early '80s can use each other's steering boxes. They changed the hose connections in '77, but you can get adapters or have hoses made at a hydraulic shop. Get a pump & brackets from a long-water-pump engine ('69-up cars, '73-up trucks).

As I understand it, the truck steering box mounts outside the frame, and car boxes are mounted inside the frame. As far as interchangeability, go to the library and look it up in the parts interchange book. That will give a list of all models that will fit. Good luck and keep on truckin'........Jerry
