What's a Pontiac?

Crank, rods, pistons in a Pontiac are heavier, also.

You any closer to working on the 428 for yours?

So true. Much like BBC, which are about same size & weight overall. Just don't call Pontiac a big block. Drives some guys

Homeowner projects have the 428 on back burner. And it's hard pulling out the 400 when it runs so smoothly.

An unrelated topic. With your experience...I believe that Chevrolet made the 327 into 1969? If they did, did they make a large journal 327 after 1967???

Correct. My pet engine is a 327 that same out of a '69 B-body. It has been in one or another of our family trucks since about 1980. It is a large journal engine and has, near as we can figure, about a half million miles on it.
