rebuilding alternator

Does anyone know if a rebuild kit is available for our alternators. I tried advanced auto, They sell rebuilt alternators, but tell me no one makes a rebuild kit. Thanks for any info. My alternator still works, but the bearing is starting to whine. Later, Rich

CS130D? Good luck. I would take it to an alternator place. Have them install a new bearing. I'm in the same boat too.

And if all you need is the bearings, they can be purchased separately.

Re: rebuilding alternator

How hard is it to replace the bearings? Can I do it with general garage tools?
