Re: Project 6 Point Oh

Note to myself;
Don't use plastic coat hangers when painting calipers.

Wire coat hangers ain't what they used to be. I'm going to have to use some of my brass brazing rods next time lol

Re: Project 6 Point Oh

I couldn't get the threads clean enough on the tie rod tube, so I got out my 12 gage shotgun cleaning brush and short rod. Then put them in my drill and cleaned the threads good. Then I put some silver anti seize in it and now I can adjust the sleeve with one hand. I kind of got obsessed with sandblasting, cleaning, and painting the tube and clamps, (I spent a whole day on it) but it looks great.

Awesome work. You and I are both at identical stages in our build. you may be a week ahead of me but the cold weather keeps slowing my painting down. Cant keep the shop warm enough when its 10 or 15 degrees outside. The caliper paint mishap is the funniest sh** I have seen in awhile. I lmao and no one else around me understood why it was so funny.

Very few people know how to do what we (the members of this group) do, and what we go through to get great results. So when a gear head sees my grassy caliper, he laughs his butt off. But the average person wouldn't see the humor in it. It seems as time goes by, there are fewer of us lol.
