8.1

Is a 8.1 and a 3ott doable, I was told that the 8.1 shard the same bell housing as the older motors. Have a change to get one of these but I want to keep the 3ott and I will be driving respectable with the old 3ott, and does these motor's have the .400 thou discrepancy as the other ls's.

8.1L's have the same Crank Spacing as Mark IV big blocks & Gen I Small Blocks.

It will work but you better put a throttle stop somewhere around 1/8 throttle. That big block makes massive power compared to what that old transmission was designed for. The torque will rip it apart.

I agree. A little 3 speed behind that 8.1 is just a grenade waiting to explode.
