P30 restoration.

Hello all. I got several step vans im working on. From 65 to 72 year models. Im trying to track down some orginal floor plate. I. Replased the floor in one with diamond plate but it needed a new floor front to back. The 67 im working on just has one bad spot i want to try to save the floor. The metal is a type of diamond plate but has a square pattern instead of the more modern recognizable diamonds thats out there today. Ive exhausted all my leads. Called every metal supplier on the net i think. Does anyone know where to find it if its even manufactured anymore ?
Thanks in advance

Re: P30 restoration.

From everything I have found it is no longer produced and has not been for some time. I needed some a while back and ended up finding some on an old step bumper that was the same.

Re: P30 restoration.

I was afriad of that. I.have thought about trying to salvage a piece from something myself but when ever i run across it its usually on bumpers or smaller pieces. I need to replace the front foot board and seat platform area. I can't seem to locate a piece thats going to cover a 2x2 area twice over. But ty for the help and the news...

Re: P30 restoration.

Definitely old material. Last time I saw any of it new was in the late 80's. Any old abandoned tugboats nearby? It was commonly used for deck plate material on tug boats back in the day. If you fail to locate any used stuff you could buy some over gauge (thicker) plate and have a machine shop machine the grooves in it.

Talking Re: P30 restoration.

Well if i run across a tug boat in Austin Texas ill definitely take a gander and see what she has to offer. i thought about seeing if someone could produce it but man i bed that would be expensive. For my shorties a can replace the entire floor and foot tubs with 4 sheets of diamond plate. I can probably replace with 4 sheets for the price of machine work for something to match the orginal. But man I just dig the look of that old square stuff. Thanks for the help guys.
