paint decisions

I just painted my 1970 blazer dark blue. Original was light blue with light blue interior and a white top.
Needed new interior, so I went all black.
I'm thinking of painting the top Black inside and outside with tinted glass all around.
OR---leave it the typical white.
Ideas?

Re: paint decisions

I would leave the top white. Then I would spend a few bucks and upgrade the seats with highlander inserts (blue white plaid)...

Re: paint decisions

Looks like you live in my area of the world, in the friggin' desert. My trucks top is black inside and out with black interior and it's hotter than hell in the summer. It's an A/C truck, but that doesn't help much.

I love the look of black, but just keep the heat in mind. It does get hot. Real hot.

Great Idea. I have always liked the Highlander seats---but---I already ordered and received the Black interior. Already have the covers on the seats ready to go.

WOW. That setup is outstanding.
I could put up with the heat in that Blazer all day--- and still be the coolest guy on the road.
Thanks

Re: paint decisions

Scorp,
Your Blue paint picture is real close on the color. I may put the white top on and go with it a while. That always looks good. I do have a bullet hole in the rear corner of the top that I need to repair. To hide the repair I will need to paint it. That's why I have the option of going black. See-- still undecided.

Re: paint decisions

White or black outside looks good. The outside white would definitely keep things cooler. But I would probably do the inside white. Mine is black with the black interior and its very dark. I can imagine with tinted windows it would be quite dark.

I'm going through the same thing! I went with factory colors on everything because I couldn't decide. I would go with white for the top. Blue and white looks good.

Re: paint decisions

Ilike72s,

Paint looks great. Do you have an estimate of how much primer and base coat you needed? Painting mind soon.
