Cleaning up my engine bay. How do you keep your fuel lines from rusting after you wire brush them? Thankis!

X2 on the clearcoat,give them a good cleaning,SOS them,clean them off and a good coat of spray bomb clear, will work just great.

Switch over to Stainless steel lines , it really doesn't cost that much to replace them with new lines .

If you go stainless...you'll want to get a flaring tool worthy of stainless...don't ask me how I know. Those tools are pricey, but well worth it if stainless is your passion.

Otherwise, clean the line as good as you can, preparation is the key, paint to your preferred color and clear coat or clear coat right on bare steel.

Nickle Copper tubing will also work well. No special tools to work with it. It also polishes up nicely.

After checking the prices on tube benders and flare tools I looked at a few pawn shops and ended up with like new bluepoint sets for $40.00 , Summit sells Stainless lines cheap enough and it doesn't take long to learn how . Measure three times and cut once

I have Stainless fuel lines and after buying pre made brake lines I'm pulling them off and bending my own that actually fit .

We used to call the tool trucks like Snap-on, Mac and Matco the metal vampires ! They sure knew what days the guys got paid .

I don't know because I have never had a fuel line rust. I think the most I've done with original lines is clean with solvent and steel wool. I have painted with alumna-blast when details were important. No need for stainless unless that's what you like.
