What's your MPG?

Just for fun what's you MPG and specs?

I have a crate 350 SBC, 4 barrel Edelbrock with headers and turbo 350 tranny. Today I calculated 11.9 MPG on mine. I guess it could be worse so not bad.

Re: What's your MPG?

As in my sig, including that cabover camper shell, 10 MPG in combined driving. I'll get a chance to recheck the mileage pulling the (6000 pound) travel trailer in a few weeks. It used to get 7, but I discovered a popped diaphragm on the vacuum advance, so we shall see. I also went to non-ported vacuum advance. It won't make any difference on a pull, but should help some at cruise. That 7 MPG was three years ago driving the 118/405/5/14/etc to Randsburg, CA. Lots of long grades going there, and had some cooling problems. The truck suffered. The cooling problem is well and truly dead, though.

If I was to check my mileage I'd probably quit driving Otis, so I'll just keep driving him.

Re: What's your MPG?

67 Burban with a generic SB 350, T400 and a Qjet. Low 12 mpg city. High 14 mpg highway. That's a flat highway with no wind and a steady 60 mph. Add hills or wind or 65 mph it's back to 12. I've got an overdrive upgrade in the works, I'm hoping to get a solid 15 out of it and maybe get the city to come up a bit.

Re: What's your MPG?

On my 68 C10 LS1/T56 swap I've seen 22 mpg on most 60-65 mph drives in the country. 4:10 gears. 20 inch wheels. The T56 has the .50 overdrive in 6th. The LS1 was tuned on a chassis dyno and then "road" tuned on the laptop after a couple of weeks of break in driving. RWHP 380 hp.Basic LS1 rebuild. AFR heads, forged rods and pistons. Small cam 220I/225E. 114 c/l.
I know it's not monster hp numbers but it runs really well and it's not slow. Around town only about 18 mpg.

Re: What's your MPG?

I was getting 11 mixed driving. After break-in I'll check this new crate engine for any increase (maybe a big 12 MPG if lucky). -BA

I like to get economy, but I don't care when I'm pulling the travel trailer, it's just gonna suck the gas down to move the thing. We're going camping middle of next month. We'll see how it does.

Re: What's your MPG?

I bet I could squeeze a couple more MPG out of my truck but I'm still the the breaking in - joyriding time with my new engine. I'm having too much fun laying into the gas pedal.

Re: What's your MPG?

I have never cared about fuel mileage , if I can not afford fuel after my investment , then why do I have this thing .
But just for kicks my 351 modified Mach 1 gets 18 mph

Re: What's your MPG?

My 03 Silverado single cab short bed only gets 16 MPG. So I think anywhere near there is good.

Better even, I just pay for the fuel as I do not make a car payment.

For me that is the question answered for accounting purposes.

I agree with you all. I'm gonna drive it no matter the MPG. Just was curious if I was in the ballpark for MPG

Re: What's your MPG?

I never checked the mileage on my 70 C10 with a 350 vortec and th350 trans. I do know it gets a lot better mileage if I drive it easy but that ain't no fun.

Re: What's your MPG?

I've got a 1969 C10 with a Ls3 and 4L80E and 3.05 gears on 3in lift and 33s. Daily driven 50 miles on the freeway everyday getting 22mpg. But I always seem to have that skinny pedal buried more then I should.
