Parchment interior combos

I’m in the process of building a 68’ GMC. The truck will be a mostly original paint light yellow with interior painted surfaces also being yellow.

I’m putting these buddy bucket seats in it. Really leaning towards recovering them in an original style parchment cover. It’s not the 90’s, purple and yellow don’t work for me

Just curious what other guys have chosen to with the rest of the accent pieces. This truck is being built as sort of a leftovers kinda build. So I’m planning on using the 71’ parchment door panels since they are in really good shape.

Mostly wondering what others have chosen for dash-pad and carpet colours, I kind of want something other than Black.

Re: Parchment interior combos

I really like the idea of yellow with white. I think that will really look sharp. My initial thought is brown or tan for carpet and dash pad. This is a factory orange/white truck I owned...

I like that. I also like the tan wheel/column.

Re: Parchment interior combos

71K1500....my truck is the mid level trim that originally did not have carpet. Truck had original parchment interior. I stayed with parchment and chose a medium saddle carpet that ended up a little lighter in color than what the sample looked like. Dashpad is close to original color. Overall I am pleased with how it turned out. I really like trucks in their original trim, but I could not help myself from adding a few upgrades as I put my truck back together.

Re: Parchment interior combos

GM used sandalwood and that would go along well with the light yellow and parchment. I think parchment dash pad would be too much

I’m the same way. GM really got it right with the interiors of these trucks.

Seems like saddle or brown is a common choice, and I’d have to say I agree with it.

Re: Parchment interior combos

Currently sporting a black factory vinyl floor with a dash pad of unknown color. The plan is to go with brown carpet and dash pad with a wood rimmed steering wheel like those found in Camaro of the same vintage.

Re: Parchment interior combos

I think my interior should look like Tim71s truck. PO had put a saddle seat cover on since he could not locate a Parchment one. My dash pad and carpet is like Tim's, my column is tan.

That's a great looking interior. Very sharp.
