Our first stepside,, 72 C10

Picked this up last Sunday and just getting readyu to unload it here at the shop. 72 C10 short b ed step side. It has a six cylinder and three on the tree,, quite the opposite to our Cheap Bastard truck. It starts, runs and drives. Would like to keep it and do an ultra low budget parts chaser truck, but it will probably go on the market here in a couple of weeks. Decisions, decisions....

And this is why we probably won't keep this one.... Still haven't done anything with Mississippi Mud, although its twin from a different mother, Tennessee Trash, now lives in Pennsylvania. Typical sunday around our shop.. Dig those mirrors on the stepside... coooolll.....

I really like our old trucks, but ,,,, my everyday drivers for years have been these F150's. Guess it is a throwback to when our family farmed back in the 60's thru late 80's, that is what our farm trucks were. Strange I know, but it works for me.

The grass is always greener on the other side, isn't it?? I have had a '72 SWB Fleetside (which I guess, a lot of folks prefer) for 30+ years, and I really like my truck....but these short steppers, slammed and cherried out, man, they are hard to beat! Good luck with your decision...whatever it is.

LOL! That's funny. On a long road trip w/ the family today, and spotted a mid 30's - 40's flat bed truck on a trailer up ahead. Couldn't really tell exactly what it was. Got up closer and it was an old ford...looking pretty good...on the trailer....being pulled by a late model SILVERADO!!!!! I laughed, and said to myself, "Well, that's better than the other way around!!"

Long live Chevy!!

Got the plugs changed, put on new wires and afuel filter. Probably going to change oil, clean the gas tank (running off a wiper fluid jug hooked to the fuel pump) fix blown exhaust gasket and flip it. It would be fun to keep but not enough time to enjoy the Cheap Bastard truck, let alone two of them.

Yes, it was not looking good for it when we found it. The amazing thing is it fired right up after we bypassed the gas tank and filed the points. They were thinking of scrapping it we think. It is a lot of fun driving it around on our gravel roads, the three on the tree is a blast. But reality is the deciding factor.. It is going to have to go....

Re: Our first stepside,, 72 C10

Got the donut gasket replace, sounds much better. Bad fuel out of tank, no more gallon jug. Going to take of those fine looking mirrors Wednesday evening. Planning on getting it listed this weekend. Gonna be cheap....
