engine swap

Hey all!! I'm very new to this site, but so far I think it's pretty cool. I'm sure this has been posted before, but i'm not sure how to navigate this site and find past articles. I want to put a 454 in my 72 1 ton. how big a deal is this?

Thank you.

Re: engine swap

'72 you can check in the FAQ section of the BB for info on some topics. There is probably a write up on what you need to change. If you need more info just ask someone who is into Big Blocks will give you the answers. If you find you need parts there is a classifieds section to the BB.

BTW Welcome to "THE" source for info for 67-72 Chevy trucks.

Re: engine swap

Thanks guys. It's just an ol' turd truck with 81,000 original miles. lol I got it from my uncle and put a 3 yard dump bed on it for gardening and helping out the neighbors. Needs rockers and 'corners but drives like a dream. I will get pics posted soon.
