Re: Jeep J10

The blue bed panel is the donor replacement panel. I also have a few “minor” rust holes in the bed and I cut a patch out of another donor bed chunk and started welding it in. Have several other holes to deal with.

Re: Jeep J10

More rust repair, some areas gone, others just really thin. Got this side of the bed mostly done.

Thanks! I'm just trying to patch the holes and worst of the rust. Even with these repairs, it's still dented and wavy from years of use. There are also little surface rust blooms everywhere! I am going to sand the entire inside of the bed and get as much rust out as possible, then coat with an Eastwood Rust Encapsulator, then probably put bed liner over it.

What bed liner did you like?

Re: Jeep J10

If I was paying someone to do it, I would go with line x...

I have colormatched linerextreme that I'm going to use on the IH bed...

I've also used raptorliner in wheel wells...not sure if I'd want it in a bed,,seems slick even though it's got texture, but would probably be ok...

lizardskin seems to be very good and I like the feel of it.feels like 80g sandpaper.but not sure if it has uv protection ...

that's gonna be the big thing is uv...

Re: Jeep J10

I got all the rust fixed, welds ground, and then welded in the donor front bed panel. I sanded off most of the surface rust, then painted the inside of the bed with the Eastwood Platinum Rust converter to try and control anything that’s left, and then sealed all the seams.

Re: Jeep J10

Time for bed liner. I ended up using Raptor Liner which turned out great! The bed Of course still has some battle scars throughout, but all the giant rust holes are gone and there’s solid metal everywhere. Before the repairs a gallon gas can would fall thru the bed in the corners!

I have a couple of leftover bottles of the Raptor Liner that I’ll use for the fire wall, inner fenders, and the inside of the tailgate.
