6l80e shifting Issues

6l80e from a Pontiac G8 60,000 miles shifts slow lazy like it sat for six or seven years. Once in gear no slippage and when I slow to a stop I can feel it down shift and there solid. I sent the ECM out and had the VATS removed and all the normal stuff, I gave them tire size and gear ratio. Any help would be appreciated

Sounds like it is low on fluid....

Did you install a remote access dipstick or does it still have the rubber plug ?

Rubber plug,,,,Emergency brake applied, engine running...trans in D, trans fluid should be just below top of hole in case where rubber plug slips in....do not remove the plug without the engine running...you will lose trans fluid....

Remote access dipstick...make sure you check the level with emergency brake applied, engine running, trans in D...make sure you got the correct remote setup, some are not accurate....

Make sure you use the correct fluid to top up...

Did you change the oil and filter on the trans?

Re: 6l80e shifting Issues

Well apparently it was a little low took about a quart problem solved I had ran it through the gears when I first topped it off But apparently when I took it for a ride it purged some air. This time I jack the rear wheels off the ground put it in drive and just let it run as I topped it off. Thanks for your help I don’t know whose idea this was to remove the dipstick I guess another dipstick
