Can anyone kindly ID these three parts please?

Picture should be self explanatory. I'm hoping for names and descriptions. Thanks for any input. Edit, that white wire runs up into a harness. Don't know what it powers, but with that and the scotch lock, it's a good guess it's not supposed to be spliced.

On a side note, this restoration business is a kick in the pants. I can see why it's a lifestyle for many.

Clockwise, Horn Relay, Brake light switch, and finally the dreaded ignition reverse and drive starter lock out circuit.

The relay - is for the horn. Whats That - is the brake light switch. Not sure on the white wire. More educated people will chime in.

Big arrow pointing down at it. Top left Horn relay. Little arrow pointing left: brake switch
Bottom is the reverse lights and neutral safety switch. It goes on the steering column when it's installed through the hole in the fire wall.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Take the wire tap off and the short white wire will come with it. You don't need it....

Re: Can anyone kindly ID these three parts please?

Being that the white wire goes to the brake light switch, I would guess one of the previous owners may have installed a trailer brake controller.

Re: Can anyone kindly ID these three parts please?

You guys will laugh, not about Guy I mean. I likely did too when this truck was new to me (1989). We worked in a shop, and my buddy, Guy, who has since been murdered (literally), was a practical joker. I believe in one instance, the horn would go off when I turned the blinker on. There was at least one other occasion, so I believe what you're looking at is brake to horn.

Correction: Post #8, BINGO. This did have a brake controller. I removed it decades ago, so I'm likely the culprit. I'll leave the above story up for entertainment value, though RIP Guy.

Thanks Lockdoc on the Scotchloc. I'm rewiring this entire thing anyway.

Thanks for all the responses. I don't know what a "dreaded ignition reverse and drive starter lock out circuit" is, but I'll look it up. Perhaps that's another term for neutral safety switch and it runs to the ignition? I'm just guessing here, at some point I'll chase all the wires.

Thanks for all the info.

Why is it when add on electrical connections like in your picture on the brake wires people feel they need to address them. That wire could be for anything!
I don't address things like that in my answer's for one reason. I have no idea what the person who installed it was doing. The wire could be for a third brake light. Who knows what it's for.
I have been working on these trucks for over 30 years and I have seen stuff that I had no idea why it was wired as it was are how in the world it even worked.

And yes this is the same thing.
dreaded ignition reverse and drive starter lock out circuit

Neutral safety switch and back up light switch!

I get it to extent, but think I'll keep mine. Was just edgucated on install: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=633796

Mine was missing one screw. That was a common theme inside this cab. But that's what I bought my 72 for:

The tap was definitely for trailer brakes. In addition to that, the original owner had the following on this SWB: Step bumper W receiver hitch > fifth wheel with brackets mounted to frame, and of course bed holes. > saddle gas tanks > camper mirrors > CB > boat launching hitch.

Between that and MANY loads of rocks and dirt, and the fact he bypassed the factory transmission cooler for an auxiliary, everything they say about the 400TH is true. It still feels new. I even hauled what had to have been 5-6 ton of rock in a trailer once, 30 miles. Course 25 MPH down the highway. Not the wisest decision. Building with rocks is a passion for me, but this new bed won't haul more than a blanket....That's what the 72 is for as well.
