I asked him once "how come you just let these sit out in the rain and the snow?" he said that he worked hard all his life and he just wanted to know that they were his and he could just look out in his yard and see them.
he doesn't want to restore em, he just wants to know that he's got em.

Re: Fought the urge but it was too good of a deal!!

Some day I'll be driving along some road 800 miles from Michigan and find a truck in that great of shape! Holy cow I have bought and sold trucks that run and stop and have 3/4 of the body left for close to double that! I really need to take a road trip...

Nice score!

Re: Fought the urge but it was too good of a deal!!

Had a good day today with it.....I got all the lights, headlights, flashers and signals working, put some mirrors on it that I had, got the radio working, got the tailgate handle un-stuck and working and drove it around town. It is running great!! I think Im going to put a carb kit in it to see if I can get that little hesitation out of it.

Re: Fought the urge but it was too good of a deal!!

As most of you that follow my posts know, I am just about out of the 67-72's. We here at Rottenwood Garage and Speed Shop are throwing 4 trucks together at the same time and clearing all the inventory out. I drove this truck most of last summer and into the fall before I sold it to my buddy up the street. It has been sitting at the shop over the winter patiently waiting its turn. We did put a bed side on it due to a very long crease down it. Today was the day for it all to start.....we are going to freshen up the engine, put a new core support and fenders on it, drop it 2-4 and give it some fresh (dull/old looking) paint....SO RACY!

Yea if you can find an AGR slot those things are elusive! At least in the Aircraft Maintenance career field. They always take our slots away and give them to the Pilots.
