Second and Third row Seat pictures

I bought a 72 Suburban that came from the factory with the second and third row seats but they are no longer there. I need some pictures of the seat mounts to make sure that when I find some I have the right ones.
thank you

Re: Second and Third row Seat pictures

I don't have any good pictures of the brackets right now. The 3rd seat is the same as the seat in a blazer. The 2nd seat is different do to the step up. I have an extra second seat in a parts burb I bought.

I'll take some pictures tomorrow if you are interested.

Re: Second and Third row Seat pictures

I'm pretty sure they were all the same. The 3rd seat has 2 brackets in the back. The 2nd seat also has 2 brackets, but they are shorter. Do you have pictures of yours?

Edit: Found this picture of the rear brackets.

Re: Second and Third row Seat pictures

I have a question that may be related. Your pic shows only 2 back brackets on the second row seat. My second row seat, and gmbpmidway's second row seat have 4 brackets, but my burb only has 2 rows. Is/would the second row seat be wider for 2 rows, but be shorter to leave a path on the right side to get to the 3rd row? Or are they the same? My 2nd row seat is wide enough there is no room to get to the back. (it is as wide as the front bench seat).

Re: Second and Third row Seat pictures

when there are 3 seats, both the rear seats are narrow, and only seat 2 ppl. The middle one is offset to the drivers side, and the rear one is centered inbetween the wheel wells.
the passenger in back (board member alvin) is sitting all the way to the passenger side, yet, pretty much centered in the truck.

Hart_Rod: is that a picture you took? Any idea what that set of seats is out of? Is that a buddy bucket, or at least part of one?

The green seats are out of a suburban. The buddy bucket setup is in the burbs didn't have the seat back on the center seat, it only came with a console that has special brackets that prevented it from flopping backwards.

Re: Second and Third row Seat pictures

The second and third row should each seat 3 people. There are seat belts for 3 people in each position, and the brochure even says "seats a baseball team".
Now, I put the wide second seat in, and added a fourth seat belt spot in the second seat position, and you have to jump over the second seat to get to the third, but I can fit 10. Handy when taking the family, the whole family, to the beach.

Re: Second and Third row Seat pictures

Dang, I think having a suburban would be so cool....all those seats with arm rests and ashtrays. I don't smoke and would never allow it in my vehicles, but I still like ashtrays. Probably the same odd reason I collect foreign cigarettes and do not smoke.

Re: Second and Third row Seat pictures

'67 brochure says "seating for up to 9" and seat belts for all passengers, so it would seem they intended for each row to seat up to 3 people.

Mine only came optioned with 2 rows, but I'm gonna have to find a 3rd row seat so we don't have to worry about buying a minivan as kids start coming along!

Re: Second and Third row Seat pictures

Were all second row seats shortened, or just ones that also had third row seating? My second row bench is the full width of the truck, not sure if it factory or not.

Re: Second and Third row Seat pictures

Just with second and third seat option.
Front bench was standard. (A52)
Front buckets (A50), Second row bench (AS3) and second and third row bench seats (A80) were optional.

edit to add, the front bench and the rear benches are quite different in their construction. They wouldn't interchange easily.

Re: Second and Third row Seat pictures

Gesino, I get to Dallas occasionally. Those seats, and especially with brackets, have value.

I don't need them so I'd like to see a member "in need" take them. PM me if you just need them gone.
