I've seen new ones painted and still rusted after a year, whats the best?

Insides can be painted with any good paint - normally black, but have seen several painted same color as truck. Outsides (wheel wells) should porbably be protected with some kind of undercoating or tough paint such as POR-15. I perfer the POR-15 route because it's easy to touch up when (not if) it gets chiped from flying debri, but undercoating does help with noise.

I had a friend at body shop do mine not sure of the paint he used probably was Dupont base/clear came out great. Be careful putting them back in you don't want any scratchs. I was lucky I used plenty of masking tape around the corners and edges. I have had very good luck with rattle can paint jobs as well it's all in the PREP WORK and is to touch up as needed.

you could put some of that napa x-liner wanna-be stuff under the fender and . put a layer of POR-15 first......just an idea

i just did mine with Testors spray paint. They come out looking awsome, and this is the best rattle paint I have ever seen. I tis kinda expensive for spray paint, but you can find it by the models in wall mart or where-ever.
This stuff spray easy, high gloss, and very durable. The rust pprevention is pretty good too. Just use a good primer.

I'm going to use an eastwood under engine paint. Its got a flat dark, but not quite black look to it. I want a flat paint so it doesn't show my poorly stamped Tiwan inner fenders.

I used single stage paint on my inner fender wells. Dupont or Ditzler paint will work. It just depends on what paint you used before. I have used both. If you need any help let me know. I live in santee.

I'll have mine painted gloss black and I'm going to have them Rhinolined on the inside to protect against rock chips . I've seen it done and it looks great.

i was going to powdercoat then at El Dorado's on commercial. right down the street from you!!! Real Durable and will last a long time.

I'm real happy with powdercoating the stuff I've done at home so far, but the oven won't hold 'em. I'm going to blast mine and have them powdercoated locally in gloss black. Hadn't thought about the tire side chipping, though.........I'll give that one some thought.

a guy at work got his mountain bike frame done for 50 bucks and it looks bad ass. El's is the best for the money.
