Unplanned engine/tranny swap - help?

So... I let my friend borrow my 1965 GMC 1-ton flatbed (305V6).

He called yesterday nearly crying. Apparently ran it out of oil.

So... a SBC/700R I have is what I intend to swap in.

I did a brief search here on the swap and found some info on a 67 swap.
Are the motor mounts the same? Available here?

THANKS!

You planning on using the truck as a 1 ton? Reason I ask is that might consider the 700R4. If you are looking for OD try a 4l80e. Use harness from a 90-93 diesel.

Re: Unplanned engine/tranny swap - help?

It is just a driver now, no longer a 'work' truck. It might haul some beer but nothing heavier. I have a 700R but I think a friend has a 4L...

Are the motor mounts the same for 65 and 67 or are you asking are they the same for V6 and V8? Not that I can say for sure either way. But,I do know the frame stands are different between V6 and V8

Re: Unplanned engine/tranny swap - help?

Asking if the V8 swap is the same for my 65 as in the 67 that I found info about.
I believe I can find a factory trans crossmember from 63-87 and move it back on the frame, drill it, and bolt it in.
