Front bumper paint or chrome?

Removed the side trim and replaced rear bumper with a roll pan so front looks like crap. Did any of the 88-98’s come bumper trim delete ? Truck is also red so maybe painted will not look great 🤔 Pics anyone ?

Re: Front bumper paint or chrome?

lmc sells a paintable front with no holes.

i have one on my truck, but later installed holes for the trim. Check out the wide body build thread for pics...i used all lmc parts for brackets and bumper.

Re: Front bumper paint or chrome?

My former 98 WT 98 K2500 plow truck had black bumpers when I got it and with the black grill it looked decent.
Now there is an all orange GMT400 running around my town in summer and with the orange front bumper and the 96 up grill with orange where the chrome was and rear roll pan looks very very sharp.
Of course painting chrome is a start with 36 grit on DA and go through 400 one step at a time and self etching primer thing that took 6-7hrs per bumper last time I did it.
I vote paint matching bumper

i would prefer the painted, even red. it would mimic the sports/454's.

have you considered adding the trim ? i think that looks best either way

Look for a work truck they have smooth bumpers.that's how I got mine as for calling it a trim delete the trim wad added on. Not removed. The trim was an upgrade.
