Re: '68 c10 build

Truck made the trip without issue. We also brought another car with us. This one is a ‘54 Olds 98 Starfire Covertible. It has a 6.0 ls, bagged suspension, Ron Mangus Interior. Neat car.

Re: '68 c10 build

Brief update - The trip to Goodguys went well. Truck got a lot of positive feedback and I had two guys who were interested in buying. One guy was there to buy a c10 and had cash in hand but I don't think was able to get to my asking price. Another gentlemen had been there to buy a "nice driver" c10 the year prior and couldn't find one that he liked. He said he made the decision to build one instead. He showed me some pics of the truck he was building and it was out of this world. He said his build steamrolled on him and he was 120,000 Canadian in it prior to paint and interior. He went on to say he would again be looking for a nice driver in the next few months. He got my info and said he was very interested in the truck.

Fast forward to last week, I was contacted by a third guy who saw the truck online. We spoke a few times and I sent pics to him and we agreed on a price. He sent me a deposit last night and is planning to pick it up around Christmas. Nice guy who's super excited about the truck. He said he'd been looking for one for a while.

I will post once it's all said and done. It's been fun, thanks for those who followed along and offered their thoughts along the way.

Thank you. The shop is working on a few cars right now but no c10s. I think my dad and I are going to do a 68 Camaro on the side to sell like we did this one.

Thanks! The youtube Video was kind of cool. I have no idea how it happened but all the pics were taken from this build thread.

Re: '68 c10 build

I got to see the truck a few weeks ago at Goodguys in Del Mar. The new owner seemed very happy with the truck and even made a few tweaks to make it his own. The most noticeable change was the new interior. He changed it to black and had an upholstery shop do a custom cover for the seat.

Re: '68 c10 build

Just to update this thread. I got word the new owners won an award this past weekend at Goodguys in Del Mar. The award was "Chevy Truck Pick" by LMC. Made me miss it but I'm happy for them.

I thought this was a pretty cool picture. I'm sure he's thinking, "they should have used my wheels."

Re: '68 c10 build

Beautiful Truck. Question: I've never done Vintage Air before. What's the Hot tip on getting the lines out the fan hole? Does it work? no sweat/leaks inside? I'm having a Custom "GMC" Panel made for the entire Pass side and Man, I'd like to keep it clean! Any help is appreciated!

Re: '68 c10 build

You used stock control arms, any problems with front end alignment? Also, can conventional gauges be used with a modern engine? I'm new, be gentle.
