Re: '67 gmc c30

Here are a few pictures. Today I scrubbed it down with CLR and scotchbrite pads. Then wiped it down with boiled linseed oil. The tool boxes definitely took some time.

Re: '67 gmc c30

patina'd amazingness!!! I bought this truck from a towing company in the rockaways on longisland. they got it from the original owners family. no one wanted to buy the truck from the towing company for a few reasons 1 his price was ridiculous and 2 the reg had only half the vin and no one thought they could get it registered. well I brought it home and after a few trips to the dmv I had it all straightened out had it registered got it running thanks to a new gas tank from jess "zicc" a set of wheels I had on the side and a bunch of other things. I had my fun with it. we all know we cant keep them all so I was so lucky to find this one a new home with steve who is definitely giving this odd duck the love it deserves. here are a few pics from when I brought it home.

Re: '67 gmc c30

Wow those pics are great! I hadnt seen them until now. I will get some pics of the 305 tomorrow. This is just a good honest working mans truck.
We have always been a Chevy GMC truck family. My dad started with a '67?
C-10 I6 3 on the tree, Stepside short bed. Dark green Then many many and I mean many trucks later I found this. Maybe someday my father, my brother and I will make a list of the Chevy/ GMC's weve owned Haha That'll be some list.

I found a business card of the original owner in the glove box.
Almost makes me NOT want to re-letter the doors with my company name.....

Re: '67 gmc c30

Good morning. Thanks for the compliment but to be honest, its probably looking better in pictures than in person. I ended up using green colored pads. The surface rust, ridges, and oxidation was all pretty significant as you can imagine. I think come spring, I may buff the cab out a bit but the side boxes are so much different both in metal texture and paint quality that I dont want the cab to look too good.

Welcome to the site! That truck is right up my ally, you lucky #@%*! That thing is in great shape for NY. I have to nip a thing in the bud here. What you have is a '67 GMC C3500. Chevy used 10-20-30 and GMC used 1500-2500-3500.

Awesome find and awesome truck! I know first hand how hard it is too find a truck that isn't all rusted out in our area! What are your plans for it?

Re: '67 gmc c30

Again, might look better in pictures. the rockers and right cab corner are rotted. The bed had seen better days. Overall though a pretty solid, "survivor" truck I'd say. With just over 66k miles its certainly worth spending some time on it.
Im not interested in a restoration. Id rather be able to use it occasionally for errands etc. I am working on designs for re-lettering the doors for my business.

Re: '67 gmc c30

Well, it doesn't look bad, could be worse. Looks like the doors are decent. There are trucks everywhere with rusted out rockers and corners. Can't wait to see your door art. Like I said, this is right up my ally. I'm wanting either a low profile service body from the west coast or a pair of these boxes on a Fenderside bed for my '72 GMC, then have truck lettered and pinstriped like my old trucks.

I love your truck. Perfect chore boy handy dandy loaded with character classic ride. It's a combination of the two I am settling down to having here out. Two GMCs, a '67 C1500 and a '72 K2500. Catch it at both ends.

Re: '67 gmc c30

I saw this truck on Craigslist and even posted it in the "Craigslist Finds" thread. I had no idea the seller was a board member though and now the buyer is on the board too? Pretty darn cool series of events. Pretty darn cool truck too!
