Lowered..back to stock springs

71 C10, lowered 2 inches (?)...
Wheel well to center of front hub is at 17 inches, same for the back. Looking at Moog 6082 for the front and DC603 in the back. Overall body height is 30 inches front and 31 in back from the ground to wheel well with 235/70/15 Wrangler tires. Shocks look to be new Gabriels.
Question is suppose I will need new shocks also...spid lists heavy duty suspension and has the pads for helper leafs, gone.
Thoughts? Thanks!!!

Can you post pictures of the truck and the front spindles?
Stock springs will usually make it set really high.

All the ground to frame measurements are spot on. 17 inches just ahead of the bed, long box.

Definitely a stock spindle.
I was wondering if it had drop spindles also.
Looks like just the drop spring.
You could improve the ride by trimming or removing the rubber bumpstop.

That's what I was thinking. Springs don't look to have been cut, heated maybe. Just sits a tad too low for my liking.even with the weigh off of them there is no room for spacers...not a fan anyway. If I can get a decent day I think I'll see what the full extended length of the shocks are and order up new springs n shocks if I have to.
Its not a lot but the droopy front end look is just not my thing.

With the old girl being almost 50 years old I think I am going to just replace the coils all the way around. SPID says HD suspension. I am kinda leary about doing this myself, I know there is a lot of energy in those baby's even with all the weight off. For those that have done this, suppose it would be best to have my local shop just handle it or chain it up and see how it goes. Local place does restorations and builds on top of heavy truck work, they did some good work on my old C50 for the friend that bought it. Did some spring work on my new at the time GMC K15 with leaf springs but with out having the station lift available and the proper tools...?

The rears will be fairly easy to change.
The fronts can be removed without too much effort but there is a lot of stored energy.
INSTALLING the new front springs will require a spring compressor.
Lowered springs are shorter and can be installed without a spring compressor.
New stock springs won’t be that easy.

Thanks Keith. Believe I will do the rear and let the boys with a heated shop and experience tackle the front. Save a couple bucks with the labor too.
