Steering Column Bracket and Wire - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Hey gang,

I have two questions as I reassemble my column/dash.

First are these brackets and the gap below the column correct? Seems off to me but I'm not sure how to correct it.

Second - the bundle of wires coming out of the column - there's 8 in the ribbon but i also have a tan/gray wire with a connector on the end. i *think* this goes on the back of the cluster but can anyone confirm?
